2009 Inauguration Stories is a journal collection of first hand accounts and personal remembrances circulated nationally among family, friends, business associates, acquaintances, and those once removed who attended the 56th Presidential Inauguration. The traveling journal has morphed into a blog to now welcome, compile, share untold inauguration stories and influence comments worldwide.

Jan. 20th 2009 will forever be synonymous with arguably the most historic Presidential Inauguration in America’s history. According to satellite imagery analysis, a crowd of 1.5 – 1.8 million people packed the National Mall for the inauguration, and thousands more lined the highways, streets, and neighborhoods in route to our nations Capitol. The attendance record for a presidential inauguration before Barack Obama was held by Lyndon B. Johnson, who drew an estimated 1.2 million in 1965 according to the National Park Service.
